Mtae Tour: A 3-4 Days Hike In Usambara Mountains
This hike will take you through local trails while exploring the beauty of nice landscapes of the Usambara Mountains. By hiking through rain forests you will more engage to explore and learn about several species of fauna and flora of the Usambaras. Itinerary
Hike through Magamba Rainforest, where you may spot monkeys and exotic birds. Visit local villages to learn about Usambara’s history and agriculture. Spend the night in Lukozi village guesthouse.
Walk through lush green valleys and traditional villages. Visit a local women’s convent, known for handmade products and farming. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner and overnight stay at Rangwi Convent.
Hike through scenic trails, stopping at viewpoints overlooking the Maasai plains. Interact with local villagers and learn about their daily life. Arrive at Mtae, the highest peak in Usambara, to witness a breathtaking sunset. Overnight stay at a local lodge in Mtae.
Enjoy a relaxing morning exploring Mtae town. Take a scenic drive back to Lushoto (optional hiking routes available). The tour ends in Lushoto town.
